Beats on Film and Journalism
Your developed essay on the Beat Generation is due two weeks from today. It is up to you to find out your focus, thesis, and the writers/artists you'll be analyzing. Please get started. We're looking at 5-7 typed double-spaced pages with an additional "Works Cited" page formatted in MLA 8th Ed.
Great Advice: Wikipedia is an increasingly good place to begin your research: Use it as a guide, not a destination. It remains a terrible source to end your research. Never cite Wikipedia in a formal essay. Your professor will immediately discount your scholarship. Just sayin.
The Wikipedia page for the Beat Generation aggregates lots of disparate information about the movement and its key figures. That said, it's spotty and is full of omission and unverified mythology. Check it out here.
Below are several links about the Beats. I could have included dozens and dozens more, but that job of research is for you.
