Here's the first (of six) short documentaries about T.S. Eliot. I still find it difficult to believe that the poet who wrote "The Wasteland" also wrote the poems that the Broadway Musical Cats was based on. The two texts seem to inhabit different worlds entirely. But I bet a closer examination would yield similarities and confluences that would be worth exploring. Of course, Cats is Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of Eliot's poems, not a text by Eliot himself.

Another fun fact about Eliot. His friends called him Tom, and T.Eliot is "toilet" backward.
