Today in class we're going to break into three groups (3-4 students per group). Each group will be assigned one of the Gutstein stories below to make a brief and informal presentation to the rest of the class. Read your story out loud at least twice. Someone take notes of your conversation. Here are several questions you might want to address. Make up some of your own questions; this list is not exhaustive.
What happens? Who are the characters? When and where does the story take place? What is the mood of the story? How does the language work? Does it feel like a cross between a poem and a story? What is the effect on the reader?
