Does Literature Still Matter?
Kyle Dargan is a poet and professor who teaches at American University in DC. He was one of the poets interviewed for the article below. Here are some of Dargan's poems published on the Poetry Foundation website.
Let's be honest for a minute. What is the value of studying literature? By literature, I mean poetry, fiction, essays, memoirs, etc. In other words, written things. We're going to quickly read an article from CNN.com that was published in 2015 on this topic: Poetry Is Dead. No, it's not.
