Beat Poetry Generator

This is a fun site. Our exercise today is fairly simple. We are going to auto-generate acrostic Beat Generation parody poems in the ABPG. Type in the title of a Beat Generation book, poem, or text. Take a screengrab of the generated poem. Print it out. If you don't like the generated poem, for whatever reason, click on the box underneath the search window, "Click here for a new poem."

Of course, this is fun and funny, but there is often a kernel of truth in humor. What do these parodies tell us about the themes, preoccupations, cliches, etc of the Beats? Think about it. What do these computer-generated poems make fun of? Are they accurate or compelling critiques of Beat literature?

The generated poem above is (obviously) "Howl". Below are generated poems for "On the Road" and "Naked Lunch".
