Read these three short essays, take notes, and be ready for a full discussion on Monday. Yes, these essays contain some difficult and obscure passages. Try your best. The Roland Barthes essay is only the first section of the link. Do not read the other two. These essays were sourced in the "Papers" section of ubuweb.
